As in the case of the precious green clay, which works very well just as an essential ingredient for purifying face and body masks. And this is thanks to its characteristics: it is formed, in fact, from 50 percent of silica and 14 percent of aluminum. It has a robust absorbing power and analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. For this reason, its use can help the body even in case of muscle pain, swelling, arthritis, and rheumatism.

Green Clay: Benefits

The use of this in cosmetics is especially indicated for skin care, especially in skin impurities and sebum caused by acne and blackheads. With its high absorbent capacity, the clay acts by trapping the sebum and other impurities of the face. Furthermore, the clay works by toning the skin, as it stimulates blood circulation and eliminates dead cells. The result is revitalized, fresh, soft skin with more muscular connective tissues and tighten pores. Some studies have also shown that clay inhibits the development of various bacteria, which can cause skin infections and resist the use of drugs, such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium marina.

Ventilated Green Clay

Ventilated green clay, also known as sun-dried clay, is even purer clay than the others. It is particularly suitable for making face masks, especially for oily skin, because, more than the other qualities of green clay, it acts by absorbing and regulating excess sebum, giving the skin the minerals and micronutrients it needs to regenerate.

Clay Mask: How To Do It

To improve the beneficial effects, it is possible to add Aloe Vera to the clay in the case of sensitive skin or jojoba oil in the case of oily skin.

How Long Does A Clay Mask Be Kept?

For green clay, we mainly recommend three uses:

  • For a face mask with clay, ideal in case of acne, apply a layer of green clay and water mixture on the skin, leaving it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with hot water;
  • For a body pack suitable for dry skin, you can mix equal parts of green clay and algae powder combined with water. Then spread a reasonably large towel or shower towel on the bed and cover it with plastic wrap, then spread the mixture on your body and lie on the towel, wrapping yourself inside; it is essential to stay warm for 15-30 minutes before rinsing in the shower;
  • A handful of dry green clay can be added to the bath water for a softening and refreshing effect: just 30 minutes of immersion will be enough.

Finally, a couple of packs on the “critical” areas will help reduce cellulite blemishes because the clay balances the skin’s hydration levels.
